“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me (John 17:20-23.)

In this powerful prayer, Jesus is praying for all believers.  He is praying for the ones who believe that all things are possible through Him, the ones that believe in His power.  Those who are reliant upon the strength of the Lord, the ones who inhabit His Spirit. It is certainly good to know that Abba Father prayed for us.  Prayer is an expression of communication between believers and God.  I am amazed that more Believers fail to pray without ceasing because there is power in the communication to God (2 Chronicles 7:14).  Why would God instruct us to pray without ceasing if He had no plans to respond? Yes, the God who has answered prayers every time that prayer reaches Him.  Why doubt? Because prayer is not answered in the desired timeframe, know that all prayers that are aligned with God’s plans are answered.  Jesus prayed for Himself and continued that praying to God the Father in a petition for all Believers here on earth.

“Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.  O, righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You, and these have known that You sent Me.  And I have declared to them Your name and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” John 17:24-26

When we pray for others it blesses them.  Whether or not they are aware of our petition, prayer changes their situation (1 Peter 3:12).  Therefore, it behooves us to pray without ceasing as God commanded, knowing that there’s power in the words that we proclaim to God.

Prayer: Abba Father, here I am, would you hear my petition today and see about the needs of the names that I cry out to You in prayer.  Lord while You are seeing about their needs, see about their souls.  Lord help them to know the magnitude and power of love for them.  A love that died for them.  Lord,  I love you with all of my heart and I cry out to You Abba.  Amen
